The History Of Italian Food

Food - The History Of Italian Food

Good evening. Now, I discovered Food - The History Of Italian Food. Which could be very helpful to me therefore you. The History Of Italian Food

While some of the most favorite dishes connected with the Italian culture include a tempting slice of pizza and a heaping plate of pasta, there is much more to the world of Italian cooking. Throughout the many regions in Italy, the distinctive cuisine of the Italians shines through in a wide-range of eating habits, styles of cooking, and choice of local ingredients. The changing of the times has also influenced Italian food, as the meals served in the pre-Roman era possess both similarities and differences in the cuisine of today.

What I said. It shouldn't be the conclusion that the actual about Food. You see this article for facts about anyone wish to know is Food.

Food

The culinary history of Italy established a reputation more than 2,000 years ago, which includes an noted movement while the Roman Empire. Culturally, food making ready was quite prominent in the past where flashes of importance have been captured in the only surviving cookbook (Apicius), which dates back to the first century Bc.

The spread of Italian food diversity began after the fall of the Roman Empire when personel city states began to uphold isolate identities and traditions. Each region began to display its own unique way of cooking, right down to the formation of a meatball to the characteristic cheeses and wine produced in a locale. The north advanced Tuscan beef, while black truffles were very favorite in Marches. Provolone and mozzarella cheeses advanced in the south, as well as a host of spicy citrus fruits.

Diverse types of bread, variations in pasta, and varying food making ready techniques also differed according to region. The southern regions of Italy embrace hard-boiled spaghetti, while the north often prefers a soft egg noodle. Milan is known for their risotto, while Bologna has a deep history regarding tortellini, and Naples is noted for their pizzas.

Over the years, Italian cuisine has greatly evolved in part because of a wealth of face influences that have added to its characteristic flavor and appeal. In the beginning, ancient Greek cookery became an integrated part of Italian cuisine. Eventually, a wealth of imports found their way into the kitchens of early Italians, who sent Roman ships to get a collection of prominent foods, including wheat, wine, exotic ingredients, and fine spices from colse to the world. Some ships even traveled to faraway locations, such as China, to bring back edible resources that catapulted the depth and collection of Italian cooking styles.

Coastal regions are known for their developments in tasty fish and seafood dishes. For example, the island of Sardinia supplies a more customary and straightforward style of cuisine, which often incorporated delicacies, connected with the sea. Swordfish, lobster, anchovies, sardines, and other Mediterranean treats rehearse Italian cooking of the area. In Sicily (another island region), a great deal of the cooking drew heavily from North African influences. An Arab affect also affected cuisine on the island and within the rest of the south, especially with the introduction of discrete spices and sweets, such as the Sicilian ice cream cake called cassata.

As for one of the most favorite Italian dishes, while the history books often state that pasta was a stock of the Chinese brought back by Venetian merchant, Marco Polo, it was genuinely a rediscovery of a food item eaten while Etruscan and Roman times. It is believed that the first pasta in Italy was made similar to the noodles of today - from the same durum wheat - which was cooked in ovens instead of boiled in water.

Today, the differences in Italian cooking still show through in the distinctions between the north and the south. Each region still carries their own traditions in cooking that reflects deep history and culture with a never ending contribute of main courses, appetizers, and desserts that continuously tempts the taste buds.

Good morning. Yesterday, I discovered PEPSICO CAREERS - foresight Guides Your Destiny in Sales and in Life. Which is very helpful in my experience and also you. foresight Guides Your Destiny in Sales and in Life

Driving to spring training in Florida, the famous baseball player and boss Yogi Berra and his wife were terribly late. They were driving all night and Yogi's wife fell fast asleep. To make up for lost time, Yogi took a short cut that eventually turned into a dirt road with more dirt than road. His wife suddenly awoke, very startled and said to Yogi, "Honey. I think we are lost." Yogi always ready with a quick quip, replied, "Yeah but we are development great time".

What I said. It just isn't the conclusion that the real about PEPSICO CAREERS. You see this article for facts about anyone need to know is PEPSICO CAREERS.

PEPSICO CAREERS

Without vision, you may get somewhere, but most likely it will be the somewhere you don't want. Foresight guides your destiny. It did for Gary Player. As a young lad growing up in South Africa, Gary had the Foresight of his greatness. Gary would stand in front of a mirror and say over and over "You are going to be one of the many players of all time". Gary Player's Foresight shined very brightly, and guided him to come to be one of the many golfers of the 20th century.

Vision can originate our end point-even if one does not currently exist. When Tommy Burnett entered University of Virginia in 1993, he declared to his professor that his Foresight was to be a extra effects master on a Star Wars movie. Unfortunately for him, the last Star Wars movie was made ten years earlier.

Given that predicament, most citizen would pick other direction-Not Tommy. He had a Foresight of bringing to life his beloved science fiction characters on the silver screen and development them appear real. He read all he could get his hands on regarding how to originate extra effects and how to agenda these effects. He became an master on a new computer programming language called Python.

Fortunately, industrial light and Magic, the enterprise owed by George Lucas which creates Star Wars movies, needed person who knew Python. Tommy was their man and was hired to form extra effects for the Star War movies in 1999, 2002, and 2003. Tommy's Foresight created his destiny.

Our Foresight is our light. We all need this light-in a sense, it is a survival mechanism. Psychologists discovered that when mice were placed into a tub with no way out, they would stop swimming after 45 minutes and drown. However, if the mice had a light shining upon them, they would continue to swim for 36 hours. The mice were motivated through the darkness by a Foresight of light.

Vision guided Christopher Reeves throughout his darkest hours-his Foresight was the light at the end of his tragic tunnel. Christopher Reeves rise to fame was fierce, propelling him to the top of the Hollywood game in the 1970's. Then tragedy struck. While an equestrian competition, his horse threw Reeves who landed on his neck, His injury was so severe that he was paralyzed from the neck down. But Reeves had a Foresight that would guide him through the next ten years-at his forty-third birthday party he announced that he would stand up and make a cheer at his 50th.

This Foresight propelled him over the globe, development countless speeches and pleads for money for spinal cord research. He was dedicated to find a cure. Unfortunately, this Foresight did not come to fruition, and he did not stand to toast his friends on any birthday following the accident. Sadder was his death at the age of 52 of a heart attack. However, his memory and his Foresight still guide his foundation to find a cure in the future.

In his book, Power of Purpose, Dick Leider interviewed hundreds of citizen in their seventies and eighties. He asked them two straightforward questions: "if you could live your life over again, what would you change?" and "What is the wisdom that you would pass on?"

One of the most frequent answers given was that they would have had a great Foresight for their life's direction and that this Foresight would have made a difference.

Those answers from our elders send a clear cut message-Find a Foresight for your life that has meaning. Agreeing to the old philosopher Seneca, when a man does not know what harbor he is navigation for, no wind is the right wind. Zig Ziglar, a present day motivational guru, has noted that the happiest citizen he knows are those who are working toward a Foresight whereas the most bored and miserable citizen are drifting along with no worthwhile objectives in mind. They sail with any wind.

The issue with Foresight is twofold; First, many citizen do not know their true vision, and second, their work choices are not in line with their true vision. Becoming aware of your true Foresight and having that Foresight aligned with your work may be the most difficult task a person can accomplish, but it is essential. The following drills will help:

Don't wait for your mortality sandwich:

Deborah Winger called it "a mortality sandwich". When she was young, she had planned to be a researcher for criminal investigations. As Winger describes it-she wanted to be an investigator just like in the show Csi. Then she had a terrible but fortuitous crisis with a truck. It was an crisis in which she had a clear look at her mortality. This situation made her convert directions and result her true vision-to be an actress. And as we know, she has had a thinkable, career, starring in such megahits as An Officer and a Gentleman, Urban Cowboy, and Terms of Endearment.

Don't wait for your mortality sandwich. Eat life up!

Aligning your work with your vision

Finding a great direction was easy for John Sculley. When Steve Jobs was looking for a man to hold the helm and steer his new company, Apple, he approached Sculley. At that time, Sculley was president of Pepsico and had a extraordinary career. Any way Steve Jobs approached him and asked him if he wanted to make sugar water all his life or convert the world-the option was easy for Sculley. He wanted to make a meaningful difference, so he left and joined Apple so that he could help convert the world.

Are you struggling to align your work with your vision?

The first step is to originate a purpose statement. A purpose statement is a Foresight about what we believe will give meaning to you life.
To form an efficient purpose statement, here are a few questions to guide you:

• Who do you admire and why?
• What have been some great contributions to our world?
• What do you see as meaningful?
• What essential contributions would you like to make to the world?

The next step is to list your values. Martin Luther King Jr. Once stated, "I do not want to have the finer things in life-All I want to leave behind is a committed life. King valued a committed life, a life dedicated to changing human rights.

What do you value most? These may contain money, civil rights, creating a beneficial product, helping the homeless, or other values such as creating a great world and/or great environment for our children. List 10 of your key values.

Now here is the kicker. Pick 2 or 3 careers (or different jobs within your current work path) that you think are in line with your true vision. Write a persuasive paragraph for each career, as you would be writing to a friend, and tell this friend how your purpose statement and values are aligned with this particular career.

The paragraphs that are a difficult write-that is, the careers that had to be bent and pushed to fit into your statement and values, are probably not a good choice. This work option is out of sync with your true vision.

On the other hand, the paragraph that was the easiest write-the one that was the best fit for your purpose and values, will be the accurate option and a step toward following your vision.

Henry David Thoreau once stated, "We only hit what we aim at". I would add-We need to know where to aim-this chapter will point you in the right direction.

There have been thousands of books, articles, speeches, and blog posts in recent years on how to implement flexible work. Some of those sources have even been useful. But The Agile Workforce and Workplace, by Karol Rose and Lori Sokol, is by far the most full, and the most practical guide I have found to date.

I have spent much of my vocation campaigning for flexible work. In recent years my focus has been on Alternative Workplace Strategies (Aws) and managing remote workers, but that is only because I believe there are very practical physical, social, and technological challenges that must be addressed to make flexible work a reality.

I have a deep passion about manufacture flexible work efficient for millions of citizen nearby the world. Most organizations make terrible use of human talent. All too often they still treat citizen like interchangeable parts in some grand machine, and they fail fully to take individual differences, and personal needs, into account. The result is a tragic waste of human capital and loss of inherent productivity, to say nothing of the poor treatment of citizen and the arresting of work/life integration. It's simply got to change, both for the good of society and for the health of the economy.

And that is why I recommend this book.

Rose and Sokol have compiled a very practical guide that is full of real-world stories, hands-on tips, and tangible checklists and worksheets. If you want to build the case for flexible work in your own organization, and then make it happen, you need to make The Agile Workforce and Workplace your daily companion.

The book was prepared for the Working mother research Institute, with active sponsorship from Cardinal Health, Merck, State road Bank, and Novartis. It includes detailed stories about flexible work programs at Royal Dutch Shell, Pitney Bowes, Pepsico, McKesson, Proctor & Gamble, and many other familiar organizations.

Here's what Ted Childs, Retired Vice President of Global Workforce Diversity at Ibm and a long-time friend of the authors, had to say about the book and the importance of flexible work programs:

"We need our leaders-business, government, and institutional-to be innovative in both their thinking, and their execution, in addressing the flexibility needs of their people. They must be driven by race of the "What is possible?" question...Karol [and Lori] [do] it masterfully in this argument of yesterday's and today's workplace, and marketplace, and in so doing tomorrow's everyplace."

The book addresses flexibility from a wide range of perspectives, along with talent attraction and retention, technology, company continuity, facilities planning, worker wellness, legal and compliance issues, and assessing its company value. In short, it's a full, guide that tells you not just why flexible work is so important, and so beneficial, but how to make it a reality in your own organization.

I am certain you will find "The Agile Workforce and Workplace" a sound investment, and a considerable companion as you create the time to come of work in your own organization.

The Last Game Ever

PEPSICO CAREERS - The Last Game Ever

Good afternoon. Yesterday, I discovered PEPSICO CAREERS - The Last Game Ever. Which could be very helpful if you ask me and you. The Last Game Ever

I'm not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed to admit this, but I think I managed to watch at least six College football bowl games out of the 30+ games that were played and televised this past season. By my own standards I'd like to think that qualifies me as a good sports fan, a red-blooded American and an avid consumer of free-market commercialism. After all, assuming I sat through six entire bowl games, I would have been exposed to a total of about six hours of clocked game time (of which only about 66 minutes was comprised of true play-making action), 700 instant replays, six performances of the National Anthem, countless cut-aways to smiling cheerleaders and 240 television commercials for such significant household staples as beer, chips and Lexus automobiles.

What I said. It isn't in conclusion that the actual about PEPSICO CAREERS. You read this article for home elevators an individual want to know is PEPSICO CAREERS.

PEPSICO CAREERS

Last Game Ever?
Helping me to enjoy the full result of this multi-facted contact were the game announcers, a uniquely talented group of verbal magicians with a knack for capturing references to sports, patriotism and the sponsor's goods name all in a single sentence. Case in point: when Auburn lined up for a game-winning field goal in the Tostitos Bcs championship game, play-by-play man Brent Musburger commented, "This is for all the Tostitos!" PepsiCo executives must have had sore hands for days from all the high fives.

But amidst all that redundant annotation from game to game I was struck by a single annotation which received repeated mentions by the separate announcers. In practically every game, I heard the announcer say, "For most of these seniors, this will be the last organized football game they ever play." I found this annotation to be rather sobering, as I'm sure they and their families did as well.

While I perceive that the chances of production it to the Nfl are very remote, I guess I imagined that those odds improved dramatically within the ranks of the best five or 10 college teams in the country. It turns out that while those odds do precisely increase for the top teams, the percent of Nfl draft picks even among these elite programs is still remarkably low. And so, days after we were done ringing in the New Year and celebrating bowl victories, the "last game ever" annotation was still ringing in my ears. I concluded that it was the excellent punctuation for something we need to keep reminding ourselves every time we see a young man step out onto any field of play: all of this must be kept in perspective.

To What End?

An estimated 40 million kids between the ages of six and 17 play competitive sports in the U.S., reflecting a steady increase in organized youth sports participation over the past two decades. Most of this increase has come from the pre-high school age group of six to 14-year-olds, where the estimate of youth sports organizations has exploded over that same time frame. And while the estimate of organizations and participants has sky rocketed, so too has the youth sports "industry," becoming a multi-billion dollar marketplace for all sorts of products, equipment, training facilities and expert instructors for all ages. Either one measures this trend by hours of time devoted to youth sports, or by dollars spent in withhold of them, or even by the growing incidence of loony parental behavior on the sidelines, one must nevertheless witness that we have reached a state of exuberance for youth sports bordering on obsession or zealotry. practically all of us are guilty of it to some degree, and so each of us must stop to ask ourselves, to what end?

In examining the statistics of youth football participation as an example, the answer to that ask remains a bit unclear. Think the following facts. It's been reported that over three million children between ages six and 14 play some form of organized football. And, like most organized youth sports, this age group represents the apex of participation before significant attrition to the sport's involvement sets in. Agreeing to the National Federation of High Schools, just over one million students play football in high school, which means that two-thirds of all the younger kids playing in Pop Warner and other youth football leagues hang up their cleats by freshman year. By the way, the estimate one presume for doing so is that "it wasn't fun anymore."

After high school, the drop off becomes larger. Of the one million high school football players, only about 35,000 (3.5%) go on to play some form of college football. If these football participation estimates are correct, the college player is a rare breed indeed. They represent the surviving 1% of all players who started playing organized football as small kids, and are still at it. And, as the college bowl announcers aptly pointed out, for most of them it's the end of the line. From among those 35,000 college players, the Nfl will draft practically 200 rookies each year to withhold a work force of about 1,600 total expert players. For those of you keeping up with all of these statistics, that means that the chances of a 12-year-old pee wee player production it to the Nfl are about 0.0067%.

So again, we must ask ourselves, to what end are we spending all of this time, energy, money and emotional angst on our kids' sports? It can't be for the promise of a expert career, or even a college scholarship. Statistically that holds no more logic than spending your entire paycheck on lottery tickets each week. Assuming most of us are Either smarter or more risk averse than that, then it must be something else. Some potential answers come to mind. The optimistic answer is that our community values the lessons taught by organized sports regarding teamwork, cooperation, reduce and hard work, while we also identify the health benefits of athletic performance within an increasingly sedentary culture. A nice answer would simply be that our kids have so much fun playing these organized sports. The more cynical response would be that we've all gone a bit mad and fully lost our perspective; that somehow we have come to judge a significant portion of our child's human worth by how well he or she does on the field of play relative to his or her peers. Can that precisely be the answer? Let's hope not.

In the meantime, when we think about the "last game ever" for college football's seniors we should precisely be reasoning about our own kids who are currently playing youth sports. After all, statistically speaking, the vast majority of these kids are already very close to playing the last game they will ever play in that sport. Even without production it to the pros, the college seniors can look back on a fullfilling and satisfying experience. Have we done enough to make sure the same is true for every other kid about to play their own "last game ever?"

Women are the field of strangeness since the age of caveman to the new era...for men the most daunting examine is "what these women are searching in the men..?" A observe says that women don't like a man who drinks but on the other hand, many pubs in assorted cities are flourishing on the sake of women who drink. Vodka and Rum are becoming famous among the working class women in the It sectors and also in the Bpos. Then tell me one thing, if these women are busy in drinking then why they are request for such men who do not drink. This is not my idea but the result of a observe which says 49-76% women of age group 15-35 have told that they would like a man who does not drink.

What I said. It is not the actual final outcome that the actual about PEPSICO CAREERS. You read this article for information about what you need to know is PEPSICO CAREERS.

PEPSICO CAREERS

Like men, women are also seeking the equal participation in the household work and they also want real preserve from their lover, boyfriend or husband in the kitchen and also want their participation in financial decision-making. But we belong to male dominating community where women can't participation in financial decision-making. But this is not fair - if women can give birth and nourish us and make us to face the world then why she can't take part in decision-making. If you are married then probably you will be familiar with the leadership potential of your wife, because your wife keeps you on your fingers for most of the time and inspire to take risk in life. If she can author your family then how she can't administrate office full of lazy but inspiring people. Then why we hesitate to imbibe them at leadership place. If women are so naïve then why are we reading Madam Curie and why we are following the theory of hers? Today colse to the Globe these women are governing the Fortune 50 clubs and also imparting values too in clubs like PepsiCo, Icici and many more examples are secret in the depth of history.

Women are proving themselves at every front and are giving a good competition to the man but when matter comes to settle on their Man, then one and only though that run in their mind that is "a man who can fix the fuse and discuss about any kind of topic at any time & should be a good lover and an even great father. They want a man who has the wisdom like Yudhisthir, muscles like Bhima, goofy attitude just like Arjun and Good follower as the Nakul and Sahdev...but this aggregate is not going to happen on earth... This proves that the desires/ambitions of women are unbounded and if man tries to fulfill all these then he will have to take many births but their desires will not finish...this is the only drawback of the women, they don't want a man but a robot who can love and can fulfill each and every needs simultaneously. A observe results show that women never run behind money or fair complexion or some heavenly attributes but they run behind a boy or a man who follows her not every time but probably most of occasion. Here is some point on which women want to test their man.

Respect: Every human have an innate desire to live with respect and honor and the same women want from the society. Women want reorganization to their work and also to their career. I think this is not wrong to give respect. Men want respect from these women then why men can't render the same to them.

Trust: Trust is the only parameter that decides the force of a relationship. If you don't have trust in your spouse than your life will be more than hell. Due to this every women in this world whether she is from Usa or from India want a careful man on which she can trust more than her life. I think you will not raise any examine if you will be familiar of the scandal....

Security: Who don't want a accumulate life even firm needs security then we are man. security is the biggest problem in human community and due to this each and every girl want to accumulate her-selves under the arm of her husband or boyfriend and due to this mentality women see the replica of their father in to their husband and boyfriend. They need a shoulder on which she can rest at the time of scarcity and also at the time of comfort. They want a man who can help them at every occasion of life without sacking the real trust and reality of a relation and with whom they can move confidently without the fear.
Romance: Living together does not mean that life of romance has gone. We can have some charm of romance also after the marriage because each wife wants to be pampered like girlfriend.each wife or lady wants the outing and fresh kisses that she used to have before marriage. She wants to see her part of love in the priority list of her man. She expect minimum 3 calls from her husband at office time...So to spice up the life, spouse should have some good time for the romance in the life. Because romancing with life is the art of the happiness.

Communication: whole world is familiar with the fact that women are the vocal creatures but they don't believe in proceeding first due to this they want to listen the "I Love You" word from their man. Appreciations are the only tool to keep them happy, If you want to remember their birthday then please forget their birthday or anniversary date one..and then their drama will intend you to remember the date through-out the life if you belong to a modern family with conservative though where divorces are like hell.

I think this proverb literally suits the nature of a lady "appreciation is the only way to win the heart of a woman". They want to listen the word hot and horny when they literally looks like.it helps them to accumulate the happiness in small packets.Every appreciation acts as the token of love for them. They also expect a 3-4 small call from their man when he is out in the office. So this is the transportation that plays a very vital role in a peaceful and happy relation. Salutary man: it is literally hard to resist a string and active man who is in good shape and size. They don't want a flabby or a underweight man like me Wanted to be noticed: A lot of brainless thing these girls/women achieve to get noticed by the boys and due to this they try so many sexy and skimpy dresses and so many brainless type hair-style that don't have any sense in real life.

Soul mate: Women can share everything but not willing to share her husband or boyfriends to any girl.So they want a soul mate on which she can trust in love. Caring heart: 85% ladies in the world like their man who is good with pet and children. They feel good to see their man who has a good compatibility with their family and also with their friends.

Smoking and drinking free man: these are two things that is known as the deal breaking Attributes in the man.not a particular woman wants a man who smokes &drinks...but this is not applicable for the whole woman population because exception are the supporter of every concept. Gifts: gifts are the second most pleasing thing after their intimate caring and fondling that make them happy. So man's responsibility is to give them the gift at every small occasion to shower the happiness in their relation to fix the patches of soreness in the relationship.

Women want to be the maintenance girls: every woman dreams and sing for the Gucci bags, Chanel glasses, solitaires, high heels, Armani clothes and a penthouse....more than 13% women in the world think that money can even buy a good guy too....this is just the test of women to buy the things that lure them most...

Want to marry a rich man: a observe has opened a new discussion topic that 59.4 % women want to marry rich man who inherits a large amount of wealth from their parents.this fact has been painted on the celluloid in the movie "page 3" where Chitrangada moves with a rich man of her father's age to fulfill her lust towards the lavish party and holiday on the cruise. These women are commonly obsessed with the fairy tell stories and they never want to come out of their virtual cocoon. They feel it safe and accumulate to live in such illusion...

This is my effort but may be you have some more inspiring fact in matter so please commentary below if you have any.

How To Sweat A Copper Fitting

Pepsico - How To Sweat A Copper Fitting

Good afternoon. Yesterday, I learned all about Pepsico - How To Sweat A Copper Fitting. Which could be very helpful in my experience therefore you. How To Sweat A Copper Fitting

I believe that any plumber would tell you that the key to successfully soldering or "sweating" a copper fitting is properly preparation the pipe and fitting for the soldering process. Cleaning the pipe and fitting is critical to get the solder to flow properly and insure that the pipe and fitting have been soldered together. I just refinished my bathroom and used the existing lines that brought the water up from the main to the bathroom. I substituted all the branches or "feeds" for the shower, toilet, and sink. When using existing pipe and new pipe together, cleaning and preparation are critical to insure good soldered fittings and joints. I'll use my bathroom as an example.

What I said. It shouldn't be the conclusion that the true about Pepsico . You check out this article for facts about what you need to know is Pepsico .

Pepsico

The feed for my bathroom is 1/2″ copper pipe but because my shower and toilet position would be slightly different, I decided to route my hot and cold pipes differently to accommodate the changes. I needed to put a 1/2′ copper tee on the cold feed so I could run the cold water for the shower and toilet. I turned the main off in my basement to stop the flow of water. Once I had the water off, I could sweat the fitting properly. If you are a novice at sweating pipe, you need to know that you will never get your fittings soldered properly as long as there is water in the pipe. Even if there is the sligtest amount, it will be sufficient to keep the copper from heating up to the right temperature. Using a tube cutter, I cut the existing copper pipe back to its desired length. One thing about tube cutters for beginners, gently increase the pressure on the blade as you rotate it. Putting too much pressure all at once can cause your pipe to deform while the cut. Once the pipe is cut and clear of all water, it is time to put in order the pipe and fitting for the sweat. Existing pipe will commonly have a darkish brown tarnished look where new pipe or fittings will commonly be shiny.

Look at the existing pipe and make sure that there aren't any burs on the end where the fitting will go. Use a small file to debur the pipe if necessary. Next take a piece of emery paper and work it colse to the pipe from the end to about an inch in until it is shinyand free from tarnish. I like to take a piece of clean cloth and just wipe the pipe off when I am straight through with the emery paper. This cleans any dirt or dust off of it. Next, take a 1/2 " pipe brush and run it straight through the fitting. If you don't have a pipe brush, you can use a piece of emery cloth. Apply flux colse to the end of the pipe and inside the fitting. Place the fitting on the end of the pipe until it slides all the way on. When sweating a tee, I like to put in order all three pipes and sweat them all so that I don't have to reheat the pipe and disturb the parts of the fitting already finished.

Once you have your fitting in place, it is time to light your propane torch. Adjust the flame until it is a nice, steady blue flame. Remember that the solder will all the time flow in the direction of the heat so you neeed to place your torch in a position where the solder will flow evenly colse to the pipe and fitting and be drawn inward toward the heat. On a tee, you would want to place the torch in the town of the cross bar and heat from the bottom. That way you will heat all three pipes at once and the soldler will be drawn inward toward the heat bonding the pipes to the fitting. In the case of a 90 or 45 degree fitting, place the flame from the lowest on the curved part of the fitting. Once you have the flame on the fitting, you will notice the flux start to bubble. Keep watcching until the flux seems to dry up and the color of the pipe and fitting turn dull. Take your solder and start at the top of the pipe where the end of the fitting is. Touch the solder at this point and when it melts, keep feeding solder as you go colse to the pipe in one direction and stop at the bottom. Then come back to the top and do the same in the other direction. By placing the heat at the lowest and beginning your solder at the top, you will fill in the area where the pipe goes into the fitting because the solder will flow toward the heat. Be sure to do this colse to all the pipes in the fitting. Once you are done, take off the heat. If you used to much solder, you will have a few seconds where the solder will still be wet. You can take a rag and gently wipe colse to the pipe and fitting to take off the excess solder and level it out. Now let the fitting and pipe cool down without disturbing them. Many solder joints come to be cracked because they are not allowed to cool properly. I suggest doing some custom in the carport before you endeavor the real thing. If you know anything who has done it before, why not ask them to come over for a beer and share their experience.

Caribbean Food - A little History

Caribbean Food - A little History

Food - Caribbean Food - A little History

Good evening. Yesterday, I discovered Food - Caribbean Food - A little History. Which is very helpful for me and you.

The Arawak, Carib, and Taino Indians were the first inhabitants of the Caribbean islands. These first inhabitants occupied the present day islands of British Virgin Islands, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Trinidad, and Jamaica. Their daily diet consisted of vegetables and fruits such as papaw, yams, guavas, and cassava. The Taino started the process of cooking meat and fish in large clay pots.

What I said. It shouldn't be the conclusion that the real about Food. You look at this article for information on that need to know is Food.

Food

The Arawaks are the first citizen known to make a grate of thin green wood strips on which they gently cooked meat, allowing it to be enhanced by the flavor of the wood. This grate was called a barbacoa, and the word we know today as barbeque is taken from this early Indian cooking method.

The Carib Indians added more spice to their food with hot pepper sauces, and also added lemon and lime juice to their meat and fish recipes. The Caribs are said to have made the first pepper pot stew. No recipes exist since every time the Indians made the dish, they would always add new ingredients. The Carib had a big impact on early Caribbean history, and the Caribbean sea was named after this tribe.

Then the Caribbean became a crossroads for the world . . .

Once the Europeans brought Africans slaves into the region, the slaves diet consisted mostly of food the slave owners did not want to eat. So the slaves had to be inventive, and they blended their primary African foods with staples found on the islands. The Africans introduced okra, callaloo, fish cakes, saltfish, ackee, pudding and souse, mangos, and the list goes on.

Most present day Caribbean island locals eat a present diet that is reflective of the main ingredients of primary early African dishes, and includes cassava, sweet potatoes, yams, plantains, bananas and corn meal.

African men were hunters in their homeland, and often away from home for long periods of time. They would cook spicy pork over hot coals, and this tradition was refined by the early slaves in Jamaica. The technique is known today as "jerk" cooking , and the incommunicable involves a slow meat cooking process. Jamaica is paramount for jerk chicken and pork, and you'll find jerk all over the island.

After slavery was abolished, the Europeans went to India and China for labor, and more cooking styles were introduced. Much of the Indian cooking culture remains alive and well in the Caribbean of today with the introduction of curried meats and curry powder. Indians call it kari podi, and we have come to know this pungent flavor as curry.

The Chinese introduced rice, which is always a staple in home cooked island meals. The Chinese also introduced mustard, and the early Portuguese sailors introduced the favorite codfish.

Most visitors to the Caribbean have no idea that the fruit trees and fruits so customary to the islands were introduced by the early Spanish explorers. The fruit trees and fruits brought from Spain consist of orange, lime, ginger, plantains, figs, date palms, sugar cane, grapes, tamarinds and coconuts.

Even the Polynesian islands play an foremost role in Caribbean cooking. Most of us remember the movie "Mutiny on the Bounty", but do not know that singular ship carried breadfruit, which was loaded on board from the islands of Tahiti and Timor. In the movie the crew took over the ship, forced the captain into a small boat to fend on his own, and they threw the breadfruit, which they determined "strange fruit" overboard. Another ship was more flourishing in bringing breadfruit from Polynesia to Jamaica and the St Vincent and the Grenadines. Breadfruit is a staple diet in the current day Caribbean

America is responsible for introducing beans, corn, squash, potatoes, tomatoes, and chili pepper to the Caribbean. In fact these singular foods had never been seen in Asia, Europe or Africa, so America genuinely introduced these foods the rest of the world via the Caribbean.

So it's no wonder Caribbean cooking is so rich and creative with the flavors of Africa, India, and China, along with Spanish, Danish, Portuguese, French and British influences. Food served in the Caribbean islands have been influenced by the cultures of the world, but each island adds its own special flavor and cooking technique.
